About the auditions:
Dancers of any styles of Belly Dance are welcome. If not a Tribal dancer, you must be open to
learn Tribal Dance Style, fusions and American Tribal Style.
Must arrive 10 minutes early and wait until the beginner’s class has ended.
Please come in costume, however, full Tribal Costume is not required at this point.
Bring your music in a CD or iPod, towel, water, and a small letter describing the reasons you want to be part of this troupe.
On the first part of the audition, you will present a short solo up to 4 minutes.
On the second part of the audition, you will dance with the group, following Silvana. This will not be ATS style, we just want to see how much you are able to follow and learn combos. You will not do it yourself afterwards, we want to see you in the group.
Results will be revealed the week after Sunday’s audition.
Requirements:
-Excellent attitude, respectful to the director and other troupe members.
-Drama is absolutely unacceptable.
-Must have a minimum of 2 years of consistent Belly Dance training.
-Knowledge of ATS (American Tribal Style) is a big plus, or must be willing to learn ATS, since this is the foundation of any Tribal Style or Fusion.
-Must attend 2 classes per week + rehearsal. Classes are on Tuesdays at 7pm and 8pm. You must attend both classes whether you are intermediate dancer or not. Rehearsals will take place on Fridays; time TBA, (in the evening for sure).
-Technique will be drilled in class, not in rehearsals, if you need extra work in certain moves, you will be able to schedule private classes with Silvana.
-Must be able to learn choreographies and be comfortable to dance in small and big stages.
-Have a budget for costuming. Once you have the basic costuming, creating new combinations becomes affordable. There will be times when we’ll wear special costumes, every effort will be made to keep costs as low as possible.
-Willingness and openness to take constructive criticism.
-Commitment, dedication, determination and strong ethics.
-Love and passion for Belly Dance.
-Must play or willing to learn to play finger cymbals while you dance.
-Have reliable transportation.
-Punctuality is a must.
The Tribal Community is growing fast in South Florida, it will an honor to be part of writing South Florida Tribal history.
