About myself

I have been interested in dance since my childhood. As a child I became familiar with many types of dance, ballroom dance, folk dance and later on I have taken part in jazz-ballet courses. The real breakthrough arrived in my life in the year of 2002 when I started to belly dance. I have felt immediately that this dance form provides me more freedom and more possibility for self-expression than any other dance type. I could move freely and creatively, I didn’t have to adapt anyone but in the same time I felt that I can integrate everything what I have learned so far. In the beginning my creativity was coming together with a lack of control: my first teachers made a huge effort to guard my dance because I crossed the borders every time. In the beginning of the dance I was inspired by the Tribal dance later on I have turned my attention to Raks Sharki. I’m developing my skills and knowledge in private lessons and and master courses. Abroad and in Hungary my teachers were the following:

Sipos Réka ( Nadah)            Myriam Szabó

Vitális Anna                            Leyla Youvana

Joós Judit                                Amar Gamal

Virág  Judit                             Jilina

Mahasti                                     Hayet

Nieto Mecedes                       Raqia Hassan

Brebán Katalin                       Magdy el Leisy

Székely Maya                          Sefirah

Amira                                         Hadia

Kyra

My dance style was influenced by many improving effect while I was presenting. From this effect the most noticeable is those 4 months what I had spent with official Bollywood dancers in a luxury ship between Sweden and Finland. They have been cheering and encouraging me.

I consider that it is really important to gain as wide and diverse knowledge as it possible. For this reason I ‘m learning continual. I’m studying in workshops and taking special course of several other dance styles recently salsa. I’m trying to find new connections for the oriental dance in our modern culture.

In the last years I have turned my attention to the therapist effect of the dance: I was taking part 5 rhythms movement meditations and later on I attended Psychodynamic Movement and Dance Therapy with the conduct Dr Endresz Hajna.

My aim is to show the people this beautiful dance form which can help to keep and discover our femininity with belly dance.

Halawa was recently asked to return for the 2010 performace in Victoria in October to accompany the amazing Ava Fleming in Nath Keo’s An Eveing at the Oasis.
